KWARA STATE GOVERNMENT FREE BUS PALLIATIVE PROGRAM
In cushioning the effects of the current economic situation of the country and attempt to further reduce the burden placed on students by highly monopolized transportation services (to and fro) on our campus, the Smart-Purposed Executives met with the State Government and we’re pleased to announce a positive outcome.
Following our robust discussions, the Kwara State Government through the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Technology has relaunched FREE transportation palliative for residents, declaring buses transporting residents from Post Office to Tanke, Unilorin, Oyun, UITH and Okeose, among others free.
The previous price template for these destinations from Post Office, which is the transit hub, was between ₦300 and ₦500. For instance, from Post Office to Tanke - Unilorin was ₦500 while Oyun - UITH - Okeose was fixed at ₦400 for students, staff and the public.
We encourage our colleagues to take advantage of this initiative in easing transportation burdens as we applaud the State Government for their timely support during this challenging time.
We reiterate our commitment to enhancing the welfare and wellbeing of all Smart Unilorites.
