IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION ON THE NEW UNIVERSITY TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM
Innovative Unilorites,
In furtherance of our continuous commitment to the welfare of every Unilorite, we have been closely monitoring the new University transportation arrangement which has since commenced operation. While we observed the early implementation phase, we have since engaged the relevant authorities to ensure that the system truly serves the best interest of Unilorites.
In order to ease the burden on our colleagues and ensure the seamless operation of transportation across the University, we now write to officially inform all Unilorites about the structure and details of the new transport system. This arrangement is designed to enhance convenience, reduce waiting time, and make movement around campus more affordable and efficient.
Below is the breakdown of the transport services and their operational details:
Marcopolo Buses — ₦100
• Departure from New Park: From 7:15am daily.
• Return trips from Administrative Building: Begin from 12:00pm, available every hour.
• From 3:45pm, Marcopolo buses will move continuously between the New Park and the Administrative Building.
Unilorin Campus Shuttle — ₦150
• Take-off from New Park: Starts at 7:00am.
• From 12:00pm, the shuttles will operate within the campus, moving across faculties and designated bus stops to convey students back to the New Park.
Registered and branded Korope — ₦150
• Operates directly between the New Park and the Faculty of Education.
Keke — ₦100
• Within Campus: ₦100 to any destination on campus from the Education Park.
We appreciate the patience and understanding of all Unilorites during the adjustment period since the system began operation. The Union did not keep silent, but rather took time to observe, assess, and ensure that necessary measures were in place before communicating this official notice.
