SU FELICITATES WITH ENIOLA AND DAVID

We congratulate Adeyemi Victory Eniola, a 400 level Mass Communication student on her emergence as the winner of the Face of NAUS Beauty Contest 2021. Eniola won the contest after clinching 85% points to defeat the duo of Deborah Philip (70% points) and Amina Salihu (60% points) who are first runner-up and second runner-up respectively.

The online contest which was organized by the National Association of University Students was keenly contested by Undergraduates across the nation.

Also, we felicitate with Odesanya Damilola David, a 300 level Marketing department student as he emerge first runner-up at the just concluded Jaw-War - an oratory contest organized by the University of Ibadan debate club. The annual contest which was held at Ibadan featured participants from University of Ilorin, Obafemi Awolowo University, Federal University of Technology Akure, Olabisi Onabanjo University and the host itself - University of Ibadan.

We hereby charge every Unilorites to imbibe good character and continue to explore every good opportunity at their disposal. As an administration, we shall continue to provide enabling platform to thrive for all Unilorites.

UPDATE ON CLINIC REGISTRATION DEADLINE

This is to inform all 100L and 200L students that the University Clinic Registration would still be on till further notice. We hereby implore all concerned students to continue visiting the University Clinic for their registration.

In the same vein, the Clinic management has made special reservations for students of college of health sciences in order to have a seamless registration process.

Kindly note that the registration is a prerequisite to using the University Clinic Services.

HAPPY RESUMPTION TO ALL UNILORITES

The People Focused administration wishes all Unilorites a Happy Resumption for the commencement of the 2020/2021 Rain Semester.

The decision of the University Management to resume immediately is in line with the plan to regain the time we lost to the pandemic and restore normalcy in our academic calendar.

We however advise students who are still on break to resume back on campus as academic activities are expected to commence this week. Students should note that delivery of lectures is slated to be hybrid (virtual and physical).

Furthermore, be informed that the University has not released an updated academic calendar. As such, kindly disregard any purported calendar flying around as it is false.

UPDATE: ALLEGED DISCOVERY OF A KOMODO DRAGON ON CAMPUS

We are aware of the information about the alleged discovery of a Komodo dragon on campus. After conducting our findings, we have confirmed the discovered animal to be an Alligator and not a Komodo dragon.

However, conscious efforts are being put in place to eliminate the animal in order to avoid harmful attack on members of the University community. Students are hereby enjoined to remain calm and be security conscious as the necessary authorities are on top of the situation to ensure safety of everyone.

Focused Unilorites, as we ensure proper follow-up on the case, we are also going to put more efforts to ensure that all bushes around class and hostel areas are being cut regularly.

STUDENTS' IDENTITY CARD MANAGEMENT

This is to inform all students that taking of Faculty organized passport photographs for the sake of ID Card production is no longer necessary.

According to COMSIT, facilities are available on various portals to generate the required data, signature and pictures that would be needed to produce Identification Cards including temporary, permanent and NYSC for students.

In case of loss of ID card, affected students should report to their Faculty Officers who is going to ensure the production of their temporary ID cards.

Students can update the photo on their portal by sending a mail with matric number, name and new passport picture on red background to [email protected]. However, this update would be subjected to verification.

Finalists are enjoined to change the picture on their respective portals to a recent one (for the sake of Certificate and NYSC ID Card) by following the process above.

This new development is to ensure a seamless process of ID card production and also alleviate the stress of students.

APPLICATION FOR 'ADD AND DROP'

This is to inform the entire student populace that payment for 'add and drop' application is now activated on the University portal.

Concerned students are to make payment of N1,150 on the portal to add or drop any course of their choice.

Also, students can request for a maximum of additional 2 credit units with the application.

This application will close on Wednesday 22nd September, 2021.

UPDATE ON GSE 202 & 301

Students who failed GSE 202 can now register for GSE 301 provided that such students did not score less than 30% in the GSE 202.

Affected students are charged to make use of the 'add and drop' to effect this change.
