MATTERS ARISING: CASH SCARCITY ON CAMPUS

Modern Unilorites,

As regards the issue of insufficient cash circulation in the University community, it is imperative that we inform you of the necessary steps taken to ameliorate the situation.

In the early hours of yesterday, the Union paid a visit to all the banks on campus to express our concerns as students and get assurance for cash availability on campus.

In our discussion with the Bank Managers, they made it known to us that the welfare and satisfaction of the students has been their priority however despite the cash scarcity being a national crisis, they'll make sure cash is dispensable to the student-populace whenever it's available. The Union was also reliably informed that owing to the Federal Government directive on circulation of both old and new naira notes in the nation, the scarcity of cash on campus will reduce drastically beginning from the coming weekend.

In further development, there is an ongoing plan to partner with the United Bank of Africa(UBA) with regards to the welfarism of students. Necessary details will be communicated in due time.

We remain committed to the prioritization of your welfarism. Thank you.

100 DAYS IN OFFICE

Modern Unilorites,

We speak to you today on the landmark commemoration of our 100th DAY IN OFFICE. As a responsible and transparent administration, it is imperative that we regularly account to Unilorites about the work entrusted to us.

A hundred days ago, we took up the baton of Union administration and haven't stopped since then while navigating the hurdles and hiccups of our new terrain. What is crucial, however, is that we have forged an overriding commitment to the prioritization of your welfarism regardless of the obstacles faced.

A hundred days after our inauguration, our overwhelming impression of our reality is that the Union is our collective responsibility; we have an administration that has forged a constructive relationship with the school management; we are on course to dispense good governance and to cap it all, we are Development-Oriented.

It is in this regard that we congratulate all Unilorites for their persevering spirit with which they have handled this transition and for their patience, as this administration found its feet.

As an administration, we understand that at the end of the day, the yardstick that we shall all be judged by is one and one only: and that is, have we, through our endeavors bettered the welfarism of all Unilorites in all ramifications. It's no doubt that the progress made in these 100 Days bears testimony to the great strides that is yet to be achieved.

MATTERS ARISING : TRANSPORTATION ON CAMPUS

Modern Unilorites,

In preparation for resumption of academic activities scheduled for March 21st, 2023 and as a further means of minimizing the transportation issues faced by the University community, we are pleased to inform you that the removal of concrete bumps situated on the University road has commenced.

As earlier reported in January, the removal of these concrete bumps was one of the many suggestions put forward by the Students' Union with regards to easing the transportation issues faced by students.

The removal and redesigning of these bumps which would be followed by Asphalt laying, would no doubt result in the free flow of traffic on the University and at the same time ensure the safety of all commuters plying the road.

We remain committed in the maximization of the transportation apparatus on our campuses in order to ensure safety and comfort. Thank you.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON SECURITY & SAFETY IN THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY

Modern Unilorites,

In view of the recent happenings in the University community and the nation at large, it is highly imperative to make this release in order to draw our attention to safety both on and off campus.

As citizens of this nation, we understand the current tense atmosphere which is already brewing violence coupled with fuel and cash scarcity. As such, It is highly imperative that we go about our daily activities in a civil and peaceful manner while also abiding by the rules and regulations guiding us as students. The welfarism of each and every member of the University community is paramount to us and therefore, it is important that we intimate ourselves of these precautions.

In view of the 3-week break directed by the Federal Government, we urge our colleagues to conduct themselves in the Better-By-Far manner known to everyone and stay safe. Anyone caught engaging in illegal acts or activities that are inimical to the University community will be treated accordingly.

In a similar vein, students residing off-campus should be rest assured of reinforced security around Tanke axis and the readiness of the security outfits to purge out miscreants trying to unleash wrath on any students.

We remain keenly invested in the welfarism of our colleagues.
