CONSTRUCTION OF PS - NEW COHS ROAD AND INSTALLATION OF STREET LIGHTS
After consistent and concerted efforts of the leadership of the Union, we are glad to announce that the University through Federal Government Intervention has began the rehabilitation and expansion of about 2km road linking PS and New COHS.
The Management has also began the overhaul repair and installation of new Street lights across our campus. Places that have been illuminated so far are S.U.B./private hostels, Works/Pharmacy road, the road to new Environmental Science building and private hostel road.
Recall that the leadership of the Union in various meetings with the University management has raised these issues as trivial issues affecting the wellbeing of Unilorites. We hereby appreciate the University Management ably led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sulyman Abdulkareem Age for fulfilling his promises.
Be assured that the road linking New COHS and UITH is also going to be fixed as the contract have been awarded and is expected to commence soon.
We are also using this medium to advise members of the University community to desist from vandalization of the street lights and overspeeding.

MATTER ARISING: LACK OF POWER SUPPLY
Focused Unilorites,
We express our displeasure on the unavailability of electricity supply on campus due to a fault from the IBEDC. However, the University has made provisions for generator which was powered through out this afternoon till later this evening. Unfortunately, the generator plant was overheated due to heavy load and it was put off for some time.
We hereby urge Unilorites to remain calm and focused as work on the reactivation of generator in a couple of hours is ongoing.

PROBLEM OF WATER SUPPLY
The water supply problem which has been prevalent for the last few days is as a result of a major fault at the treatment plant that supplies water to the University Community.
To mitigate the effect of this problem on hostelites, the appropriate quarters have decided to make alternative provisions to supply water for use in hostels via water tankers.
However, the officials of the Works Department are already working to solve the problem.
We assure you that water supply will be effective sooner than expected.
