THE STUDENTS' UNION AND HON. ABDULQUAWIY OLODODO MET TO CONSIDER THE PARTIAL OPENING OF BABATUNDE IDIAGBON BRIDGE IN TANKE, ILORIN.

On Thursday, December 7, 2023, the leadership of the Students' Union held a crucial meeting with Commissioner AbdulQuawiy Olododo, the Honourable Commissioner for Solid Minerals Development and Supervising Commissioner for Works and Transport, Kwara State. The focus was on discussing the temporary opening of the Babatunde Idiagbon flyover at Tipper Garage, Tanke Ilorin, to ensure smooth transit for Unilorites returning for the 2022/2023 Academic Session, especially those residing beyond the under-construction bridge.

The Students' Union President raised the concerns of Unilorites and Tanke residents during the meeting. Commissioner AbdulQuawiy Olododo expressed sincere apologies for the inconveniences caused by the ongoing bridge construction. He assured the Student Body that efforts were underway to expedite the completion of the bridge, emphasizing that a partial opening might hinder its swift overall completion.

Demonstrating the state government's commitment to the welfare of students and Tanke residents, alternative routes, despite being in poor condition, are being considered for reconstruction until the bridge is fully operational.
