REVIEW OF KOROPE DRIVERS' OPERATION ON CAMPUS

As a responsive Union, enthusiastic about the welfare of her members, the Leadership of the Union, the head of the Campus Korope drivers and the Student Affairs Unit held an intensive tripartite meeting in order to discuss salient issues on the services being rendered to students.

At the meeting, important issues that are centered on the welfarism of students especially with regards to transportation were deliberated upon. The issues include but not limited to price review of transport fares, rules guiding the transport workers amongst others.

Modern Unilorites, in the face of the new current economic realities which has affected a myriad of necessities including fuel price, it has become pertinent to review the transport fare and in extension, sitting arrangement and mode of operations.

After an exhaustive meeting, the following resolutions were made:

1. The sitting arrangement and price of Korope buses will now be 3-3-2 and #150 respectively.

2. Korope Buses are now prohibited from conveying students to Post Office.

3. All Korope Buses must convey students to the last bus-stop which is the School Terminus. This means there mustn't be any specific commuting of students to Oke-Odo only.

4. There mustn't be more than 5 Korope Buses at the School park in the morning(between the hours of 7am-10am) and at Oke-Odo in the afternoon(between the hours of 4pm-6pm).

Implementation of these resolutions are to follow immediately from today However please note that these resolutions are temporary pending when the fuel price becomes regulated and affordable.

Students are hereby advised to adhere to the new regulations and also, report perceived misconduct of Korope drivers to the Union, with an appropriate and a substantial evidence.

Be assured that our administration is working round the clock to ensure students enjoy premium transportation with ease on campus.
