It is with great pleasure that we announce the winners of the fourth edition of the Students' Union Writers' Contest themed The Hope of a New Nigeria during this transition hours. We use this medium to apologise for the delay in announcing the winners and shortlisted works.
We sincerely appreciate the immense efforts that every single contestant put into their submissions, as we found quite a number of the reads wonderful. However, due to the large volume of entries, we are unable to send individual mails to each contestant.

We also wish to emphasize the importance of maintaining decorum, punctuality and civility at the Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers during the examination period. We understand the significance of these exams and the potential stress they can bring. Hence, we urge all students to keep their composure and stay focused throughout this critical phase.
The Union recognizes and appreciates the tireless efforts of the school management in providing a conducive academic environment. Consequently, we implore all students to play their part by upholding discipline and orderliness during the examination process.
In addition, we encourage students to make the most of the available resources, especially the 24/7 operation of the school library, to adequately prepare for their exams. The Students' Union is delighted to announce the opening of the Kwara State Students Palliative Portal, initiated by the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Mallam Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman, Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the NGF. The portal aims to provide support to Nigerian students who are Kwaran indigenes studying in public-owned tertiary institutions across the country.
The state government has allocated a sum of #10,000 to each eligible student in response to the challenges caused by the Fuel subsidy removal by the Federal Government. This palliative will be available for students from all levels and categories, including Universities, Polytechnics, Monotechnics, Colleges of Education, Colleges of Nursing & Midwifery, Colleges of Health Technologies, and other colleges throughout Nigeria.
To apply for this support, prospective students are requested to follow these simple steps:
1. Visit the portal at https://scholarship.kw.gov.ng/palliative
2. Click on the "Student Support" link to register your bio-data and obtain login details.
3. Verify your registration through the email address provided during registration.

STRICT OBSERVANCE OF UNIVERSITY DRESS CODE
The University of Ilorin Students' Union is reaching out to all students to emphasize the utmost importance of adhering strictly to the stipulated University dress code. In light of this, the University Management will soon commence rigorous enforcement to ensure full compliance.
As responsible members of this esteemed institution, it is crucial that we embrace and abide by these guidelines. To maintain the integrity and reputation of our university, it is incumbent upon each and every student to dress decently and in accordance with the prescribed dress code.
Violations or flouting of the dress code rules will not be taken lightly, as the University Management is prepared to enforce appropriate measures in proportion to the level of indecent dressing observed.
